Murals |
Murals add character to Moncton’s buildings and streetscapes. Located throughout the city, these unique pieces of are enjoyed by many visitors walking in the downtown core.
Here are a few examples; Alegria del Prado from Spain painted this mural highlighting some Canadian symbols like the bear, the salmon, the forest and Monarch butterfly. (bear) Senkoe from Mexico creatures paintings of the unconscious, animals that come to life. (Fish) Sens from Mexico Etien from France is known mostly for his stunning 3D anamorphic works. (BlueJay) Miles Toland from USA honors beauty and tries to find wisdom in nature’s forms. (Hands) Bordallo II from Lisbon paints figurative painting full of vivacity and movement. Greater Moncton is vividly depicted through artefacts and photographs. Visitors are able to discover Moncton’s past by visiting permanent and in-house temporary exhibitions.
The Moncton Museum annually hosts three to four travelling exhibits coming from different museums across the country. The Moncton Museum hosts a collection of artefacts and photographs recounting the region’s history. This exhibit relates Moncton’s history from the time of the Mi’kmaq to today. |
